Birth of Badass

Back in 1972, musician, innovator, and luthier Glen Quan saw the need for higher-quality guitar and bass bridges.  With help from Leo Malliari of Leo’s Music in Oakland, CA, the first “Badass” bridges were born.  “Leo Quan Badass” bridges were manufactured from a high-density Zinc alloy and offered improved attack, sustain and note-clarity.  Badass® bridges quickly gained a following with artists looking to upgrade their Fender® basses and were ultimately featured on several Fender artist signature models.  Through the ‘80’s, BC Rich, Spector and Kramer featured Badass bridges as original equipment on their instruments and artist acceptance continued to grow.  Today, Badass is known worldwide as the standard for quality replacement hardware that will enhance the tone, playability and appearance of your guitar or bass.

Heavy-hitting hardtail tone!  Designed as a direct-replacement bridge for Fender® Tele® Deluxe models with a 3-screw mounting pattern, our Badass HT1™ bridge offers players a noticeably bolder attack, accentuated low-mids, and sustain for days!  Equally suited to hardtail Strat® applications, players will love the deep resonance the HT1 brings to their tone.  Using a unique shim system, saddle height adjustment screws are eliminated greatly improving comfort and maximizing transference of string energy through the bridge and body.  The result is “next level” sustain and sonic heft on par with the industry’s leading set-neck guitar designs.  If you’re ready for an incredible new combination of note clarity, punch and sustain, you owe it to yourself to rock an HT1.  Afterall, why settle for ordinary when you can be BADASS!

• Solid zinc bridge plate and saddles offer fuller, more-immediate attack, enhanced sustain, and increased harmonic content – particularly in the low-mids. 
• Unique 6-saddle design for more accurate intonation and extended intonation range.

Quick Start for Setting Up Your HT1

• Use the guide below as a reference for how to pre-load your saddle shims to match your guitar’s fretboard radius.
• While the strings are off, choose the guide that best matches your guitar's fretboard radius and install the shim underneath the saddle in the positions shown illustrated. Once the shims are in place, install your strings and tune to pitch as usual.
• Keep in mind that every guitar and player is unique, so you may need to add or subtract shims to achieve your ideal setup and playability.
